Monica Crowley should be more careful in choosing words if
she’s concerned about “the truth” (Freedom, Security – and the facts, WTimes
1-29-15)
The truth is that the “real nature of the global Islamic
threat” is a flawed belief that terrorism is fundamentally Islamic in
nature. Nowhere! I repeat.
Nowhere in the Qur’an or in the teachings of Mohammad is there a call to
mass murder innocent people. Those mass
murderers who claim to be Islamic hold as much truth in their claims as Hitler
did in claiming he was Christian. And
such misbelievers are not the only source of mass murdering zealots. Timothy McVeigh who truck bombed the Oklahoma
City Federal building claimed to be both a Christian and a US patriot.
Ms. Crowley rightly condemns ISIS “routine be-headings”. But she chooses to ignore the greater truth
that Saudi Arabia, a very close US ally, beheads far more individuals monthly
than ISIS. And, they were doing it long before
ISIS existed. Nowhere in the Qur’an is
beheading even mentioned.
Rubio and Jindal, both likely GOP presidential candidates,
may be telling their truth “regarding the nature and motivation of the enemy”
but if they expect to keep America free and secure they must recognize the real
truth. The real ‘nature and motivation’
of those who seek the “gradual universalization of Sharia law” is their ignorance
of the Qur’an and their need to force others to believe as they do. They will never achieve global dominance. Not
even in their own Islamic world.
Tragically, our waging a kinetic war against these mass murdering
misbelievers too often results in the murder of more innocent and often
righteously practicing Muslims. This is
exactly what they want. We call this
‘international law’ where collateral damage is accepted when sovereign states,
just like religious extremists, put their world view above the fundamental
universal human rights of ‘we the people’. The more that so called ‘international law’
puts states rights above fundamental human rights, the more Sharia Law will be attractive
to those who are being killed in the context of international law.
Too many Americans, Ms. Crowley, and the tiny but growing
number of misbelieving mass murderers, believe their truth is the only
truth. But the real truth is that the
murder of innocent lives is wrong. And,
truthfully shameful and destructive to anyone’s religious, national or political
world view.
Former Congressman Dan Burton wrote in the Washington Times
on the very next page (“Why Azerbaijan is important to America and the free
world” 1-29-2014). He states that
Azerbaijan is a “96 percent majority Muslim country” with a Constitution that
is committed to “building an inclusive society”. He claims their “people and government uphold
standards of religious tolerance, responsible free markets, environmental
preservation and equality”, and then notes that women in Azerbaijan had the
right to vote before American women.
Now that may truly be a radical form of Islam, but one that Ms. Crowley
seems oblivious too.
And until, ‘we the people’ of every country, religion,
ethnic group and skin color, sufficiently tire of any form of law that accepts
the mass murder of innocent lives (as infidels or collateral damage) -- both
our freedoms and our security will be threatened.
Thomas Jefferson once said “"A bill of rights is what
the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or
particular, and what no just government should to rest on inference.”
Until we
have a just system of world law (not murderous Sharia law or international law)
where universal human rights are enforced over the rights of nations or the
demands of ignorant extremists (Islamic, Christian, Jew or atheist) we will
never have freedom or security. And that’s
the truth.
